Welcome to Tool Sorting & Scrap Services

Scrap tools are an important asset of any production company, and many companies overlook the value of their waste stream and instead view scrap as a useless byproduct of the manufacturing process that has to be "dealt with".

Most scrap dealers take the position of either offering a rediculously low value for a large lot of mixed materials, or they insist that all the product be sorted before it is picked up.  But everyone is short-handed, no one has the time or technology to properly isolate the high-valued alloys and carbide from the junk steel.

That is where Tool Sorting & Scrap Services adds value to your recycling program:

We'll take your lot of material, sort it, weigh it, and provide you with a check in a matter of days, not weeks or months, so you can put the value of your scrap material back to work for you quickly and easily!

Whether you mail it in, we pick it up, or a truck drops it off, we'll take your scrap material and provide you with the highest value added service in the recycling and scrap industry.  Contact us today for current pricing and to schedule a pickup!

Sorting of Your Product

Sorting of your product begins with a manual sort by tool type, and ends with fast and accurate x-ray fluorescence chemical analysis to ensure that you're getting top dollar for your high alloy and carbide product.

Weights and Measures

We use a combination of desktop and industrial pallet scales to accurately measure and record the weights of each type of scrap to ensure every pound of steel or carbide is accounted for reimbursed to our customers.

Reports & Reconciliation

For each shipment of scrap, we provide a detailed report listing the type of material submitted, the poundage of each type, and the value per unit weight of each type of material so that you can reconcile your records and know the content of your waste stream.

Receive Your Payment

Payment for received product is usually issued within 10 business days of receipt.  Depending on the size of the lot of material, additional handling and processing time may be required for loads of large size or with small pieces of intermixed chemistry.

Real World Example

Recently, a potential customer contacted TS3 and asked us to quote on his material.  Here's the information he provided to us...

CURRENT SCRAP PROCESSOR
Weight: Approximately 1,500 Lbs.
Type: Mixed Tool Steel (55 Gal Drum)
Value/Lb.: Current Vendor Pays $1.50/lb
Total Value: $2,250 Less Freight Costs

We convinced the customer to allow us to take the material with a guarantee that we could show him a significantly higher value for his scrap.

Here's what we did, following our standard sorting and analysis procedure:

TOOL SORTING & SCRAP SERVICES
Weight: Actual Weight 1,596 NET Lbs.
Solid Carbide: 514 Lbs @ $11.00/Lb.
M2 & M4 HSS 711 Lbs @ $0.80/Lb.
